A few preshow clips were missing for next week’s playlists, so I updated them according to the trailer list. Features were starting about a minute early into the playlists before I updated them, so after the changes a few ( Black Phone , Everything Everywhere , and Minions 2 ) ended up running a minute longer overall. I updated the schedule for Friday-Monday. I also switched the Lightyear playlists for tomorrow as this week’s has the Minions trailer in it. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built a playlist for the Press Play private screening tomorrow night.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: I ran the first reel of Hellraiser II on projector 2 before opening, and noticed the focus going in and out. I loosened the gate tension and this stopped that. However during the screening I noticed this same issue on the other projector (projector 1). I had it set to the same tenseness as projector 2 before starting, but loosening the gate more seemed to help. I then noticed it again at the very end of the last reel on projector 2. I’m not sure what’s causing this, though it happening on both projectors leads me to believe it’s something I could adjust. Perhaps we need to set the gate tension on these projectors specifically for each print. I’ll continue to look into it. The screening went well otherwise. Shortly after The Black Phone started for the last round Jack texted me that the speaker alignment was off and the mix was coming out mostly from the center channel. Restarting the processor resolved it. I’ll have to bring this up with DMS as they gave us a replacement power supply which fixed this issue until now. Converted both to DCP and built the playlist. On DCP-o-Matic, the slide looked a bit pixelated, though the resolution of the image itself was high. To do this evening/ was completed: Spent some time adjusting the lens files on T4 Christie before the first round. Put up test patterns on screen and there was significant bleed on the left curtain that wasn't there yesterday. Ended up manually repositioning the projector at the instruction of DMS and was able to adjust the scope and flat files pretty well, but they still need some adjustment. Very mild bleed coming from flat lens file.  I mistakenly thought Jurassic World was a scope feature, not 2:1, so I didn't think to test that macro before the theater opened. I tested the scope file with Jurassic on screen and it looked good to me, with only a slight crop at the bottom of the screen. However when the first round started I realized it was a 2:1 feature, and the picture was off, so I immediately switched the masking and lens macro to scope, and ran the feature that way. He manually tested the EQ and determined that the levels on P2 were fine, but the optical barrel on the soundhead wasn't focused and the azimuth was "off", which means you'll start to hear dialogue coming out of the surround speakers. Ultimately said it was a frequency response that Alec was hearing and the only way to know it's fully resolved is to listen to another changeover, but he was satisfied with the changes he made. P1's EQ was perfectly balanced, he said. As Roger was teching in 1, I was checking out P1 in T4 and noticed that the pad shoe was much looser than the one on P2. Reels on this projector sounded quieter than ones on projector 1. It wasn’t terrible, but we should get it looked at before the Hellraiser 2 screening ( Bling Ring has a digital soundtrack, which is processed by a separate soundhead, so this shouldn’t be an issue with that one). I’ll check in with Roger tomorrow. There was also a splice at the beginning of reel 4 (after the head leader splice) which cause the film to go out of frame. To do this evening/ was completed:  Presentation Issues: The image for the pre-show during the first round in theater 4 ( Jurassic World Dominion ) was blurry from the auditorium being too hot so I removed the port glass to wipe it down, which in turn caused the projector lens to fog over, throwing off the image on screen. After some minor troubleshooting I was able to center and focus the lens file for the rest of the pre-show and waited until the feature to start to see if the 2.00:1 file was also affected -- it was -- then adjusted that accordingly. To do this evening/ was completed:  Presentation Issues: For about the first half of reel three using P2, the top right portion of the screen was intermittently producing a vertical bounce, for example if a piece of text was on screen in that part of the frame the letters would jitter up and down slightly. This was not constant but it was consistent. The bounce stopped half way through the reel and the image remained undisturbed from that point on. I didn't have this issue at any other point during the movie. At the end of reel five, the motor and changeover cues were simply rather slight to my eye so I ended up being about one second late with my changeover, resulting in the leader being on screen.
