To do this evening/ was completed: FYI - Cristina wants to take a look at Dangerous Game before the show tomorrow. It's possible to do a 5min tech, but we'll have to be on it with rewinding and prep. - L I got the trailer for The Best of the Best onto a house reel jus to look at it structurally (pretty fragile/warped, but it should hopefully be alright) needs some leader/the DOA print that we don't have (this should be coming Wednesday morning/afternoon!) then we can get it ready for the show. - L Will mentioned having difficultly while inspecting Set it Off today and because something felt off with the feed section of the Kelmar bench, so I took a look at this, opened up the feed section and saw that the screws that hold in the diamond plates (that also latch onto the kelmar pads/plates, had all come loose and were rolling around in the bottom of the box. I reattached and tightened up the screws, cleaned everything. This should be just fine now. Please do NOT exceed 40 sp

To do this evening/ was completed: Quite a quiet night. All is well on the projection front.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Checked the playlists for the coming week to make sure everything's all set for when we get the new film schedule this Monday. Made a few adjustments. The PG13 and R rated trailer packs had the wrong policy in them.  Went through SE content/playlists.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Double checked the playlist for The Little Rascals tomorrow as there's an intro. Setup the mixer and mics so it's all set for the morning, just switch the mixer on!  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Added more photos to the drive for The Talented Mr. Ripley.  Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes Maintenance/cleaning: Cleaned the surfaces, computer/monitor/lens cabinet in 4/6.  Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked. To do this evening/ was completed: Please put the Euro soccer matches on in Trees. There are multiple per day, so we should put them all on on weekends and the last match (which starts at 3pm) on weekdays. These will be on either 505 (Fox HD) or 583 (Fox Sports HD) so just check those channels and if you see people playing soccer, you should put it on in Trees. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled the A Quiet Place playlists and filled those in on Thursday's cue sheet. Ditto Janet Planet and Kinds of Kindness , only those playlists were already built. Raised the volume for the feature to 5.8 in all Inside Out playlists. 5.0 was definitely too quiet especially with the big crowds. Personally, I think 5.5 should be our default volume for DCP features. 5.0 is maybe OK for the smaller houses, but 5.5 is generally a good level for the building (though of course depends on the movie). Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Before Sunset and the proposa

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled both Little Rascals playlists. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Hellraiser screening and pre-show performance went well. The transition from the performance video to the breakdown slide was kind of awkward but that was on me. I think they also wanted the video to cut off to black/silence abruptly before the whole thing finished, which you can't do if you're in the middle of a clip, you have to pause then skip ahead. Set up/broke down the mic in Trees for the raffle drawing. To do this evening/ was completed: FYI -We'll change the T6 lamp soon.  Can someone confirm which is the correct playlist for Basic Instinct? There's two that are very similar but I'm going to assumed it's the one that says "+performance?" Thank you! Tech'd The Bikeriders today, which looks/sounds excellent.  I checked the TMS schedule for the rest of the week and noticed that a babies screening wasn't on for Tuesday. Built the playlist and scheduled it. Please remember that we have these every Tuesday! Since I got my days mixed up, I missed our cinema meeting this morning but emailed with the team about content and met with Cristina, in Trees, this afternoon, to hash out a few things.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: I tech'd all of the Hellraiser playlist and added volume, lens/masking information to the breakdown slide and the short film. We can, of course adjust volume depending on the crowd, but I think the chosen volumes are pe

To do this evening/ was completed: Hellraiser playlist was missing the breakdown slide so I added it. I know that was tech'd last night but I don't see a volume so might have to run it again. Also the playlist doesn't have a volume for the performance video clip after the intro. Are we running music through nonsync? If not volume might have to get checked for that piece as well. Cloud Atlas letters down, DOA up. Keys uploaded for Babes, Furiosa, I Saw the TV Glow, Tuesday and Challengers. Student film DCPs ingested to T1, built a playlist titled Private_StudentFilmSeries_062024. All Q&A slides have the house lights coming up at two seconds and back down at 57 seconds. Not sure what the preference will be for lights during Q&As so you may have to adjust accordingly. Tech'd all the films after the last round in 1. 5.0 sounds good for all of them aside from 5th Grade, which sounds best around 4.0-4.5. Humanist Vampire intro, screening and Q&A went smoothly, Q&a

Please also build the playlist from the run of show in the event memo here . Bikeriders keys open tomorrow. Light control automations are working again in T4. I'm not sure exactly why this happened, but the IP address was reset to the factory default after the LMS was power cycled following the fire alarm on Saturday night. My hunch is that I did a factory reset when we were having all those fluorescent flickering and dimmer issues in here (though I surely would've rebooted it after doing so), and the IP reset only took this weekend when the LMS was hard rebooted. Whatever may have happened, it's fine now.  Important info for resetting theaters after a fire alarm though: The general protocol for resetting th

To do this evening/ was completed: Went into the T2 booth to hook up a drive with all Desmond's slides for Basic Instinct, and found a ton of water in there. Quickly tried to mop everything up and wipe it down with paper towels/rags. I let Juan know who told Carly to turn off the AC unit, which is where the leak was coming from. Condensation had pooled in the metal box below it, rapidly draining water, the corners of which I sealed to prevent any of the water getting out. It should just stay there, with a small leak, but it was not pleasant seeing a bunch of water near the rack and projector(s). I emailed Matthew about this so we can get someone in here to properly drain that out and come up with a solution to prevent further leaks. Got as much water out of there as I could. No easy feat. Update: folks are here working on it. The kill switch, for whatever reason, didn't work.  - Lillian  A note about the masking in T4: I figured out what this was. Not sure if the board was resa

Cue sheets started. 4/6 swept and mopped. Presentation Issues: T2 final round didn't start automatically. Got a call from MOD during round one in T4, alerting me that there was significant bleed on the curtains. The scope masking cue never activated. I hit the cue on quick controls, was told it executed successfully, but nothing happened, so I went into the theater and opened the curtains. Did the same thing for the next round, another scope feature, which ran smoothly. I didn't try to restart the IMS between rounds as I didn't want to jeopardize anything, but after the last round I went to the IMS and saw a few notifications, two stating that the Doremi maintenance program hadn't been performed on time and that the system may malfunction. There was also a message alerting that NTP synchronization had failed

The show itself went well. The print looked pretty good despite being covered in specks and lines (and this movie looks wild, I must check). The intro went a bit longer than anticipated (FOUR prizes this month), and I think we got a longer cut of the movie than we thought. IMDb says the US cut is 90 min and since we got the English dub that's the logical guess and what was on the event memo, but I think this was the 98 minute cut. "We saw Furiosa last night in Theater 3 (I think) and there was a big ol line vertical of burnt, or off looking pixels down the screen just right of center. Not sure if it was the projector or surface but it was distracting and bit frustrating to shell out for a ticket and have that happen."  I went in there this evening to first check on the film that was already playing and then, despite the fact that they describe it as an issue with the image/projector lens, I had a look up in the landing area by the port glass to see if anything was out of place. After final round I went in there to test the DCP/test pattern and honestly, at one point I just thought "are they talking about the seam in the screen?" because yes,

I disconnected them from the back of the house light control console. One of these wires was severed (not sure when or by whom), that also could've been why. They are completely separate from the automation that happens on the network, the cues on the IMS are directly activating the scenes through the IP address for the house light console, so these hard wired scene cue inputs (the wires I disconnected today) are bypassed as the cue goes through the ethernet cable which connects to the back of the console. The first thing I checked was the automation cues for the house lights, and those wer

To do this evening/ was completed: Removed outgoing content. Playlists built for Cloud Atlas and Humanist Vampire (still waiting on slide for the latter. Started the Ratatouille DCP in T1. Double-checked tomorrow's schedule/cue sheet, as well as the The Feeling That... playlist, all set. Mubi Gasoline Rainbow trailer left out of that playlist as there's "DON'T" written on the playlist breakdown sheet. Lithium ion batteries delivered and brought to 4/6. **The T6 MIT light panel buttons don't seem to correspond to the usual cues. Tried to bring lights up to cleaning and back down to "Up" using the panel and got no response. The second time I hit button three for lights up, the house lights down cue was activated. Was this mentioned previously? Put in the BCB V2 trailer into current trailer packs. **T1 Unexpected light off warning at the end of the night. To do this evening/ was completed: Staff screenings went just fine - curious about T2 as it hasn't been automating the past few staff screenings.  Tech'd The Feeling  in T3 this morning. I added 2 minutes of black (with the house lights up cue attached to it) to the Sunday playlist (Saturday is different, Sunday is a regular SE playlist) because the credits scene lingers on the last image and it just feels a little better to keep the lights down for it. Cue sheets have been adjusted. New air filters placed on bottom shelf of 4/6 bookcase. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built all new A1 playlists for 6/14! Loads of R rated features.  Built the following Rep/SE playlists: Last Starfighter, Spock, Mulholland Drive . Trailer Updates: Updated the PG, PG13 and R rated trailer packs with separate R packs as per Kat's sheet.  Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ingested the 3rd version trailer for  The Bikeriders .  Also ingested th

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Spoons, Toons & Booze was set up earlier today (thank you Lillian) and the show went smoothly (cable management remains a nightmare since everything once left neatly coiled is pulled taut and turned into a cluttered mess on the hosts' table but alas...the show must go on) *note: all the gear for this was left organized beneath the curtain for the brunch show this Saturday* NBA Finals coverage began this evening (sigh) and the game was put on at Trees for any guests interested in watching *it seems like ABC will be airing this entire series so the channel list on the dry erase board in 4/6 has been updated accordingly* Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Additional Deadpool & Wolverine and Alien: Romulus posters + new Blink Twice one sheets were delivered and stored behind 3/7 Ordering/Receiving (content): Uploaded keys for Top Secret! To do this evening/ was completed: Tech'd Bad Boys 4 and Garfield . Both look and sound great! Playlists are all set.  Not a single soul came to the Garfield  staff screening, so I turned it off and got ready for Spoons a little earlier. Saves us some lamp life!  Presentation Issues: Jared radioed me at the very beginning of preshow for first round in T3 because the cleaning lights didn't go down. I reset the panels in the booth. Easy enough fix, though. Then Carly radioed me for T4, which also needed to be reset. No major setback, but a little annoying. Juan was in a and out of the booth when I came in this morning, so my assumption is that I had to reset these due to maintenance. I checked all the other theatres.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built  Just Another Girl  and Inside Out 2 playlists Downloaded and ingested the Generic Pixar preshow. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Setup the wireless mics in T1 with our new portable receiver box. (I turned off the three rec

Filled out shipment info for Bad Education but did not scheduled outgoing yet as John told me to standby for confirmation that it's going back to Academy Film and Storage. To do this evening/ was completed: Staff Screenings have been sent out, including info for the special Friday screening of The Feeling... All screenings have been blocked on the calendar and scheduled on the TMS.  Weekly email is out! Feast your eyes upon it when you can. Lots of important info in that one.  Had a great cinema meeting: we're doing just fine on content, in fact, we're looking particularly good for the following week. Notes on receiving below.  I re-enabled the dowser in the T1 Christie. I discovered that the cleaning light macro on the Theater 1 server included a command to close the dowser (no idea how this got there). I'm not sure this logically explains the random closings, however if the dowser was closed at the start of preshow its possible the dowser shut when the cleaning lights came on at the end of the last show and the cue to open it at the start of the next show didn't go through (which happens sometimes). Either way, we need to have it enable

To do this evening/ was completed:  Presentation Issues: Alec went over troubleshooting the server issue with the ethernet cable in theater 6 but fortunately there was no trouble and the final rounds concluded normally There was some unavoidable and largely negligible keystoning during the Bad Education screening due to the various 1.85:1 segments featured throughout the film (which is mainly in scope) Preshow Clips/Playlist: Added a trailer for DOA: Dead or Alive to the Sundays on Fire pre-show at Cristina's request Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Bad Education screening in theater 1 this evening went well McKegg stayed late to set up for trivia at Trees Lounge (note: there was no mic in the A/V box so one was pulled from the 4/6 booth + the DJ key was left in the box for future use) Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Uploaded keys for The Feeling... and ingested Top Secret! feature content to the TMS Outgoing/Shipping (content):
