NPP Projection Report 1/17 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: New forecasts and preshow content downloaded and ingested. A1 1/24 PG playlists built. We are waiting on an SE trailer for the Denzel series that will play in the R-rated trailer packs, it's not available yet so I did not build any R-rated playlists, as you'd have to remove the incomplete trailer pack and add it a second time once the missing content is available. So those will get built soon. Tech'd Nosferatu event content with Desmond. All set. Tested the lightboard settings, all good. Run of show doc updated. Added cue sheet info for Clue and Thieves Like Us  - Lillian Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):  Ordering/Receiving (content):  I see North by NorthWest is ingesting to the T1 server but I've got it ingesting to the LMS since we'll need it there anyway, and to build the playlist. - L Received the folder of files for NoBudge...

To do this evening/ was completed: Tech'd The Brutalist, PS content and Wolf Man feature but will check the PS content for the latter tomorrow morning. All the cues for the Brutalist (intermission cues) are working just fine. I tested in both T2 and T1.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: 15min preshow for Wolf Man was reuploaded, ingested all three preshow bits and built the playlists for Wolf Man. Added Wolf Man to the 1/17 schedule on the TMS and did the whole TMS schedule for Thursday. Added Clue/Year One to the TMS. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Alec was with John and the band this morning to setup for tonight. Everything's in place and ready to go. They'll want the DCP muted. I added that cue to the playlist. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content):  Received the slide for Evil Dead 2, ingested! To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all, I put this in the Weekly Update I sent out today, but just want to remind you again here that, after tomorrow, we lose Anora, A Real Pain, Moana 2 and Conclave . Lots of titles! Everything we brought back on a split will leave us by Friday. Also, we had our cinema meeting and we're looking mighty fine on content. Staff party tonight! - Lillian  I'd give it another hour or so just to make sure, but Kat has been uploading the preshow for The Wolf Man . It's still in the DoxNotxIngest folder, but should be done quite soon! - Lillian  Staff Screenings are out and scheduled. Everything's been blocked on the calendar. - Lillian  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Be extra careful when scheduling in Screenwriter since it's 24hr time on there. Today's shows in 3 were scheduled 2 hours early. -AL Built playlists for Year One, Dark Angel, Clue . - Lillian  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving...

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Transferred all  Popeye pre-show content to theater 1 from the LMS (it was not on the server this afternoon) and scheduled its playlist on Screenwriter Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Popeye screening in theater 1 went very well Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Cristina sent a slide for the Dark Angel  intro this evening + converted this to DCP and ingested it to the LMS/theater 1 Print/video Inspection: Re-inspected  Popeye  after the show and packaged it for return shipping (these canisters are at the foot of the steps in booth 1 and can have labels printed tomorrow/as soon as the prints on the cart are picked up) Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Double checked the cues and schedule for tomorrow (two rounds as opposed to the usual th...

To do this evening/ was completed: We have a standard for including the Brutalist intermission on the cue sheets which we've gone over with the managers. Below the movie start time and above last call there should be an extra cell with the time the intermission starts. This is a part of the Brutalist's formula, make sure to include it on all cue sheets while we're showing this. -AL The Soundtrack app on the iPad in 4/6 has been taken off schedule mode a few times recently. It should stay on schedule, please put it back if you notice music playing in the building before the normal time (1:30pm weekdays, 10am weekends) -AL Made a lot of updates to the projectionist manual, including replacing Dolby TMS info with Screenwriter and generally tightening things up and reorganizing -AL We got new dimmable lightbulbs for the wall sconces, they are in 3/7 with the other lightbulbs. -AL Mic Input 1 on the Theater 1 Yamaha mixer has stopped working it seems. I marked this input so we...

To do this evening/ was completed: Attached the labels for Brewster onto the cans. As Alec mentioned in his blog, you can make labels tomorrow for the SOF print so we can ship them out together for Monday.  Presentation Issues: No major issues this evening, but Carly radioed me to let me know that cleaning lights were on when preshow started in T4 ( Flow ) and the music was too loud. I adjusted before patrons got in there and checked the playlist. There was a lens/masking change pack at the top of the playlist instead of DCP_Flat_1:85_PS pack. Similarly to what Alec mentioned in his blog from today, we're all still adjusting to Screenwriter so we need to pay extra close attention when building playlists. I have to double check my work and it can be a little confusing since some of these packs are in the same "section" now when they weren't before.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Please keep All We Can Imagine As Light on the serv...

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Lights down cues were missing from Brewster and All We Imagine As Light playlists. Brought them down manually today and added a cue to the AWIAL playlist for tomorrow. Lights also didn't come up for credits for All We Imagine , there was a cue in the playlist on Screenwriter but not the playlist on T3. Remember to ALWAYS "Save and Sync" when you update a playlist on Screenwriter. Checked the other SEs and Rock Aliens was missing the lights down cue, too, so I added it and saved/synced. Second round Mufasa in Theater 7 was scheduled for 1:07 since the round before ended at 1:05 (when Mufasa preshow was supposed to start), I suppose to make sure content and keys were all good for it. However if there's overlapping shows like this it's best to ultimately leave the second show off the schedule so we start it manually and advance it ahead so it times out correctly. So if you're c...

To do this evening/ was completed: Hi folks - please take a moment to check in with your adp account to see if there's any changes to our income with the recent 401k enrollment changes. Chances are, nothing's changed, but take a look on the off chance you need to call them should you not want to be enrolled. Shoot me or Jess a message if you have any questions about it! Thanks  - LH  Removed 1/10 content from servers. 1/17 A1 playlists built. Re-inspected Cotton Comes to Harlem... Letters up for our returning first-runs. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked the Space Jam playlist. LH Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: FYI - We likely won't actually be using the Mad Max DCP we got from Deluxe since the Morriccone Youth will be bringing their own DCP this Sunday, I believe. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ran into trouble with the HDMI cable connected to the AJA/the host's laptop during setup for Spoons this evening (took a few minutes to find the source of the problem but the adapter normally connected to the HDMI wire was not allowing the laptop to connect to the projector -- tried our own and got picture and sound -- removed the adapter and everything was resolved) Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Mad Max feature content was made available this evening but has not yet shown up on the Deluxe FilmVault on Screenwriter Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Spent the majority of the afternoon inspecting Evil Dead 2 and uploaded stills to the shared drive Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Marquee updated?: Posters updated?: Cleaning lights o...

To do this evening/ was completed:  Please put all mic stands (except for 3 in Theater 1 for Spoons, those can stay), in the Trees closet in the bag after using them for anything. These need to be kept in a consistent place, not scattered around the building. If the Trees closet doesn't work for storing them for whatever reason, feel free to propose a new location, we just need to pick one and stick to it. -AL Note: Just a friendly reminder here to try and make all slides ~ 20 seconds long. It provides a good amount of space for cues when there's an intro (especially when switching to 35mm or any special trailers), plus it's nice and smooth with a fade out. 10 seconds can be a little tight. Thanks!  -LH  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Tech'd the playlist for All We Can Imagine As Light. Volume is plenty loud at 5.0. Took a look at Flow just to make sure. To do this evening/ was completed: Cotton Comes to Harlem went very smoothly. Print heads out for re-inspection. Scheduled a few remaining Conclave shows for next week. To do this evening/ was completed: Had a fun time running around the theater looking for mic stands today. I could only find 6 and I swear we had more than this. Please keep your eyes peeled for these, and if you see any return them to the bag in the Trees closet (where they should all be going after being used for events, except maybe 3 staying in T1 for Spoons). The bag is currently empty, there are 4 in T2 and 2 in T1, all of which will be used tomorrow -AL Weekly update is out - please get your eyes on it as soon as you can! I have notes on PTO changes and housekeeping in there, so confirm with me that you've ready everything. Thanks!  Staff Screenings have been built and scheduled on both the TMS and Google Calendar. I made a poll for old/current shows this morning since we're not opening Brutalist for another week.  LH Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the following playlists for SEs/A1 this week: Conclave, Voyage...,Brewster McCloud, All We Can Imagine...

To do this evening/ was completed: Team - please be advised that both The Last Showgirl and The Brutalist will not open this week, but at a later date this January. We are also bringing back Conclave, Anora, Flow and A Real Pain this week. We have all feature and preshow content needed except for the DCP of Conclave, which I've notified Matthew about.  PLEASE NOTE: Tomorrow, please schedule an Express pickup for Billie Jean for a  Wednesday morning pickup. It's imperative this gets sent out to another theatre asap. The label is attached to the box already. I would've scheduled a pickup today, but for express pickups you can only schedule the day of or the day before.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Received the new content list from Kat. Downloaded the preshow for The Brutlalist and the MUBI_Bird trailer. Also, I believe Kat accidentally put 1/3 forecasts in the email today but the new ones will be available tomorrow morning so keep your eyes peeled! ...

NPP Projection Close 1/5

To do this evening/ was completed: Outgoing brunch letters down, Brewster McCloud up. Presentation Issues: Call from MOD for T5 last round: patron said the volume sounded low. Checked and it was indeed rather quiet. Checked the processor and volume was at 4.0 somehow. Brought it up to 6.3. This was very early in the show thankfully. Not sure why the 6.0 cue didn't fire, given that the 4.0 for trailers did. This playlist also had to be started manually. The playlist loaded but did not start itself. Same thing for round three T2. At the end of night in T5 MOD walkie'd to tell me the lights had not come up for credits. I assumed there had been some disconnect with the IMS but when I went to the IMS page everything seemed fine and I was able to use quick controls to bring the lights up. So not sure why cues aren't firing. Maybe it still is an IMS restart thing. The shutdown playlist did automate successfully, however. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV ...

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Howl's went quite well in Theater 1. P2 lamp is starting to flicker a bit, I thought we changed this along with the P1 lamp during 2023 when we were having the rectifier issues, but turns out not so. I've ordered one to come soon so we can change it. The current bulb is hanging in so it'll be OK for the next few shows until we can change it. Cleaned the projectors after the show. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added the rest of the January calendar Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Marquee updated?: Posters updated?: Cleaning lights on for the night?: Projection cart by entrance?: Additional Notes: Got a customer complaint about the masking being correct for Nosferatu , which was a first.

To do this evening/ was completed: FYI - Popeye has been moved to T1! I updated the white board in 4/6.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Chenelle got back to Alec and I with some info on the company private event on 1/9, which will be an easy laptop situation. Alec is working it.  Checked in with John about the hold for Boom for Real (1/13) which will, as it turns out, likely get pushed back to a later date.   Checked in with Desmond about NoBudge #43, which isn't until the first week of February, but we should be getting updates on content in the. near future and will let y'all know when that comes through. - L Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Keys for Nosferatu will come in by Monday, 1/6. Info for Babygirl not yet available. Deluxe rep advised to reach out to the booker (feature hasn't been extended in their system by the studio), but we're still five days out, s...

To do this evening/ was completed: Kept an eye on T6 this evening.   In T6, at one of the tables, the (what I presume to be a) loop of the white wire for the menu lights was popping out, dangling into the seats. I put it back in the little slot, but the metal attachments should be screwed off to take another look at how we can seal it up more properly. I've let Juan know, but this looks like an easy fix. I can't imagine it just falling out...it appeared to have been pulled on. Lights are working just fine.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Added the slide to the Billie Jean playlist with all the other cues needed.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Updated the doc. To do this evening/ was completed: Double-checked content in T6 due to Alec's note. Things are working well for now. 3/7 booth swept. Heat playlist built. Billie Jean slide ingested to LMS.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Marquee updated?: Posters updated?: Cleaning lights on for the night?: Projection cart by entrance?: Additional Notes:

NPP Projection Report 1/1 Close

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: The ILS board seems to have stopped working in T6. This is what controls all the lens movement: zoom, focus, and offset, so it's needed for switching between 1.85 and anything wider. A warning popped up just before 5, during Babygirl. I tried power cycling the projector after the show ended but this did nothing so I set the lens zoom/focus to 1.85 by hand (for Mufasa). After that show I tried reseating some of the connections to the IMCBs (Integrated Motor Control Boards) after calling Christie, but this didn't work either. I ended up having to adjust the lens by hand to scope for Wicked and played the whole playlist top to bottom with the lens in that position. After the last round got out I adjusted the screen files for 1.85 and 2.00 so the lens stays in the scope position with the image shrunk to be presented in the proper ratio. An old blog note reminded me you can do this. So nothing has to be done manually tomorrow, ...
