To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Beyoncé is following swiftly (pun intended) behind Taylor in giving us another very long and loudly mixed concert film...the servers in T2 noted that the film sounded too low to start with (it was originally set to 5.0 in the SPL), so after testing the volume at 7.0 and 6.5 (levels both far too loud once the bass really starts thumping following Queen B's introductory remarks), I brought it down to 6.0 which, admittedly, is still quite loud, but not loud enough to be as punishing or distracting in adjacent theaters as The Eras Tour  seemed to be to many of our guests...this volume setting may need to change if and when we move the film into other (smaller) auditoriums but, for now, it is playing comfortably to the near sold out crowd here tonight Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Titanic screening in theater 1 this evening went very smoothly; Ariel had his DJ set this evening down at Trees Lou...

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey projection - I know the following is lengthy, but please take the time to read.       Had some last minute troubleshooting with the Beyonce  feature as it came with supplementary packages (we get these sometimes depending on the feature) and I'll explain this as best I can since it's actually rather confusing, especially if you've never dealt with this before. The feature we received (which were/are the only available CPLs on Eclair and have the date 20231124 in them) are essentially "base" versions and you need to ingest and keep them on the server, then upload the supplementary packages (VF "version file" content in the email with the keys! this is VERY easy to miss, especially since it's so rare we have to do this. I've attached an image below of the packages in the KDM email, which are below the keys. You will download and ingest these just as you do with KDMs. Extra confusing seeing as how they're n...

Furthermore, if you update a password and add it to the Notes app, delete the old, obsolete password . There were three different passwords for the Deluxe portal listed on there. Also don't add random unrelated notes to it, start a new note if you need to write something down. Ran a reel of Raising Cain for Cristina, volume noted. Ran loops afterward, framing and focus set for tonight. Cleaned the projectors afterward. Re-inspected reel three of Seconds just to make sure all tears were tended to, as there are many. All good. Set up two mics for the private Taste of Things event. I think the mix is a little uneven, with the dialogue too quiet and the songs too loud. I updated the playlists to 6.0 volume. To do this evening/ was completed: Went to check Shadow of a Doubt this morning and couldn't get into Splashtop on my phone (the laptop was dead from not being plugged in, please plug the charger in when you're not using it), because the password was changed. Ended up resetting it again, updated the passwords doc  (under the "TECH" tab), but it's N1t3h@wk188. If you reset this please add the new password to that doc and note in your blog it's been changed. Feature was too quiet at 5.0, I changed it to 6.0. Mono DCPs usually always need to be played louder than our other features. 1.33 lens channel is fine. Chicken Run needed a bump, too. Raised it to 6.5 in tomorrow's playlist. To do this evening/ was completed: Seconds and Titanic prints arrived today, brought both down to T1. Inspected Seconds. It's in mostly decent condition, reel five has a lot of splices but they're all clean enough. Oddly reels two, five and six use footage from a trailer for Argo as their leaders, with one frame marked with an X to mark where to thread to. I wasn't able to run these through the frame counter after the initial inspection so that'll have to be investigated. Reel three features a ton of small tears, all mended previously/repaired now. T2 and 6 did not automate their last rounds even though there was plenty of time between shows in each. Took a look at Shadow of a Doubt in T2. Could only do so quickly and not with the lights fully down as the servers were cleaning in between rounds. Feature sounds good at 5.0 but I would double check 1.33 masking. To do this evening/ was completed: Face/Off and Bad Lieutenant DCPS ingested to T1. Marvels feature + playlist tech'd, volume good at 5.0. Set up laptop connection for Trees servers meeting. Ran through Mr. Kneff DCP with Steven, Claire and John W. Steven asked that we play the feature at 7.0 after hearing it at 5.5. Quick tech, he's happy with it. I bumped the volume on the playlist and also added a few transitional cues. The DCP has a 2.28:1 aspect ratio which gives us a little pillarboxing. I adjusted the 235 FILM masking preset to frame the image exactly. This adjustment was only a matter of about four inches. Tested wireless mics, they're beneath the screen. To my eye it looks like the lens files for flat and scope skew very slightly to the left of the screen. The right-side curtain also does not come down exactly straight, it slightly curves to the right at the bottom of the screen. I'm sure this is negligible as you can't see any issue with masking when you...
