Tomorrow, Bad Guys 2 , The Naked Gun , and Batman Forever will need to be checked for volume levels . We got a video message from the director of BG2 via Deluxe telling us to play it at 7.0 but we can be the judge of that. I didn't mention this in yesterday's blog, but I looked at CatVideoFest so that is all set. As usual, it's a hot and fairly inconsistent mix. Also this year's edition is in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio, though the only portion I saw that fills this frame completely is the end credits. Tried opening and closing the dowser/striking the lamp but these quick fixes didn't work. Quickly rebooted the projector while there was still enough time during the pre-show which ultimately resolved the issue. There were about five minutes left prior to the trailers beginning that there was an image on screen. MODs alerted me and we stayed in contact throughout the fix Eddington (1:45PM showtime, second round in theater 3) was meant to be an OCAP show but the CCAP version was scheduled and played instead. The OCAP version was scheduled and played yesterday at this same showtime. To do this evening/ was completed: I updated this in the manual, but please don't put blu-ray rips, or video files in general, through HandBrake unless we need to burn in subtitles. If the video needs to be resized, you can do that in DCP-o-matic and a better looking DCP will result, since the video has not been compressed by HandBrake. Instructions for resizing in DCP-o-matic are here . I set up the booth 5 PC to be remote controlled with Splashtop to see if that will be more reliable than 3/7 and 6 have been lately. Rebooted it and never got around to logging in to try connecting to Splashtop from there since it was taking forever to load. Ended up being pressed for time between bringing Nell an extension cord and resolving the sudden technical issue so I relinquished the 4/6 desktop to Michael via the laptop (this was the only thing Splashtop would connect to) so he could manage light/volume levels in theater 1 and get things underway. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: This was not major and has been fully resolved now, but the masking in T1 was at scope (presumably from Super 8 last night) all day today, it was a busy day so neither of us noticed/thought anything of it, only the masking did not go back to flat on cue for the start of the Superman playlist. I noticed when I went to check on the feature the curtains were at scope, and Superman is 1.85. Firing the cue again expectedly did not work so I brought the curtains in using the buttons on the motor. After the show finished I took a closer look and found, as I'd guessed, the wire to automate the #2 button (which activates the 1.85 preset) had snapped and was disconnected from the motor. To do this evening/ was completed: In response to Will's blog last night, it looks like the playlists I made for Superman  7/04 (for 7/10 release date) were deleted and the 7/11 ones were copied over from F1, given everything that was in those incorrect Superman playlists from last night. there were updates earlier in the day, so please be be very careful if you are copying over to kill some time with not having to redo the trailers and such (if that was the intention). This is also why we double check the playlists. I still believe the template system might be too much for us here, but for right now, please be sure to double check your work. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: During the middle of the second round in theater 1 the lights override switch was tripped and the cleaning lights turned on. Fortunately, I was in the booth looking at a print as this happened and unplugged/plugged the light control panel back in, which brought the lights down, until they were tripped again a few moments later and went back to the cleaning/override setting.
