I spotted one potential issue with the last round in TH1 ( Knives Out ). The cue sheets and MV's schedule indicate that it should begin at 8:35 for a 9:00 showtime, but it was automated to start at 8:45. The end time in the cue sheets was also 5 minutes off. I fixed it in TMS scheduler and modified the end time in the cue sheets. Marquee updated?: Posters updated?: Cleaning lights on for the night?: Yes. Projectors off for the night?: Yes. Presentation Issues: No issues Preshow Clips/Playlist: I decided that any time we switch the projector lens channel during a show that we should close the dowser on the projector, as the change of lens file is visible especially for scope. In the playlist program a dowser CLOSE cue at the beginning of the usual black slug for masking and lens changes. We've never set a standard for this, but the slug on the Queen & Slim playlist is 8 seconds which I think is a good length. Going forward whenever we are building a playlist for a feature with an aspect ratio other than 1.85, let's make the black slug for lens cues 8 seconds. Program the lens change 1 second after the dowser cue, and put a dowser OPEN cue 2 seconds from the end of the black slug. I've updated all current playlists. -Scheduled Knives Out and Queen & Slim through Thursday 12/5 and updated cues. Presentation Issues: The side wall lighting in theater 2 does not seem to be coming up during the lights mid cue. Not sure if this is related to the DMS work that happened today. Not a huge problem, but something to look at. ** there was also an issue with an assisted listening device requested by a customer. It was not picking up the signal for Parasite  in theater 7. Michael and I tried a couple different strategies and were eventually able to pick up the signal on Channel 2a (not 1a or 1b, which is what is labeled on the Fidelio). Something to know for the future. *** also, in the last round in theater 3 ( Parasite again) the processor seemed to randomly mute itself about an hour in. I was standing in booth 3/7 at the time and did not touch anything on the rack, and nothing unusual was happening on the scheduler. Fortunately I was able to unmute the film in about 30 seconds. Bizarre. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Added The Lighthouse to the scheduler for the last round in theate

Presentation Issues: No presentation issues but I did sit in TH4 for the opening and experienced the 1 min x 4 welcome card into the pre show. It's pretty awkward. (Although the 3 guests in the theater didn't seem to be phased at all.) Preshow Clips/Playlist: -Started downloading Queen and Slim pre shows from EVO. PS_10 completed before EVO crapped out and I had to remount it. It was an all-day affair as some portion or another of the pre shows didn't download properly and I had to re-do it 3 times. In the end, I could only get the 40 and 20 preshows successfully onto the drive and then TMS wouldn't ingest them (even though they are seen and appear to be complete). I have started the download again, this time using the poopoopants drive. Dylan, could you please TRY to ingest the Queen and Slim pre shows into TMS, tech them tonight and swap them into the Queen & Slim playlist? Presentation Issues: Towards the end of the 4:00 Ford v. Ferrari in theater 7 a customer complained that the dialogue sounded very muffled. After listening in the theater I paused the movie and restarted the CP750 and the 3 QSCs but this did not fix the problem. After talking with Michael the only other troubleshooting option was rebooting the server, which takes 10 minutes. After talking with the MODs we ended up letting the movie finish rather than stop it again. Between rounds I rebooted the server and the center speaker was still muffled, so Michael remoted in and rerouted the center audio to the left speaker, which made the dialogue come through clearly (of course at the expense of the left audio sounding clear, but MODs and I decided it was OK for the next two rounds). I played the next two features at a slightly lower volume to account for the channel change as well. Michael said he would take a look at the center speaker in 7 tomorrow morning. Presentation Issues: The 3:30  Parasite in TH4 froze about halfway through the movie. I immediately paused the playlist and hit play again, and the movie resumed about 30 seconds later. Then, during the end credits, the "Mid" lighting cues did not fire automatically. I rebooted the server after that round, which seemed to work. No issues after that. Preshow Clips/Playlist: The A1_FordvFerrari_112219 playlist had the December STB trailer tacked onto the very end for some reason, after the cleaning lights are programed to go back on. Presentation Issues: No issues. Preshow Clips/Playlist: We are now scheduling a "first round bumper" which a four-minute playlist scheduled 5 minutes before the first show of the day in each theater. Since we are scheduling a separate playlist, there is about 45 seconds with nothing on screen as the server switches the playlists. We are trying to figure out a more seamless way of executing this, but this is how it will be for now, just in case there are any questions. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Went through the NSF Vimeo playlist with the mic setup in Theater 3. Should be all set for tomorrow. I wasn't able to fully resolve the masking issue, however. My first instinct was to get the ladder and move the masking by hand and reset the pre-sets (which was probably wrong). I spent a while playing with it but no matter what I did I either could not get it to come in all the way to 1.33 with the motor or it would not open enough for even 1.85 with the mo

Presentation Issues: After the first round, TH7's scheduling would not start automatically. I think it was perhaps because the movies were all 1 minute apart and while it is possible to schedule things within the minute ML discovered that a playlist scheduled at 11:15 doesn't start at 11:15 on the dot but closer to 11:15:30 so if you have a string of movies starting 1 minute apart they will, accumulatively, overlap. It appears as if the projector has been shifted slightly to the right, giving the image a keystoning effect it did not have yesterday. I took a video of this in the end credits, where it was most noticeable, and sent it to Karen/Michael for review. Presentation Issues: We are getting some noticeable hairline scratches on Marriage Story . From the look of how they are spaced, I don't think this is completely a matter of user error — the scratches look a lot like the ones we had on Hollywood , and are popping up all over the frame. We should look into the cause of this more deeply. After noticing this I paid extra close attention to my threading for all shows. ** we had an audience altercation during the dinner round of Joker . But because of this, the last 20 seconds of film got a bit damaged. I watched the credits closely for the next two rounds, and both times these last 20 seconds again got caught in the gate. It seems to me that we may need to cut out a few frames at the end so the film can run smoothly from now on. Based on what I saw tonight, I just want to mention that the tail does not finish running through the gate, so immediately after muting the processor, I would run back and close the dowser. Presentation Issues: 2nd showing of Marriage Story  in theater 1 started out with the image backwards, as I'd flipped the film while threading it. Was immensely helpful having Alec there (thanks Alec). So that audience saw yrotS egairraM, but we stopped the film right after the title card & it took about 2 minutes to fix. After that the rest of the night ran smoothly. Presentation Issues: There were no presentation issues in the first round. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up:  I ran the whole slide show for the Bar Mitzvah and had libreoffice freeze on me. I adjusted the power save settings on the computer so that it never shuts off. It was set to go to sleep at 10 minutes and that was right when the slide show froze. I ran the slide show again for 20 minutes and everything was fine. Fingers crossed. I am leaving detailed technical directions for Erin, who will be working, along with directions on how to switch to Blu-ray as back-up. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): There is a big dry-mounted (on foam) Marriage Story poster n 3/7. Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: I teched The Irishman and moved some light cues around (they were coming up before the credits started and there was no lights down for the trailers). I also raised the volume

Presentation Issues: No issues, I forgot to mention in my blog last night that the last foil cue on Marriage Story does not bring the lights up from MID so we have to switch to Lts UP manually. Also, during the first showing tonight the tail running through was audible (analog sound must have been switched to projector 2 yesterday, but we should leave it switched to 1 in case there is a problem at some point with the digital soundtrack on the print). Long story short just make sure you mute the CP750 when the dowser on projector #1 closes at the end of the film. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled show playlists for Thursday 11/14, and for the special events of NeverEnding Story and Everybody's Everything . Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Deleted Zombieland from TMS and theater servers. Presentation Issues:  There were no presentation issues in the first round, although I did make a 1.66 masking preset on the motor and assign it to the 1.78 slot in the macro to frame out Marriage Story correctly for tonight. We will need to re-program it for 1.33 for tomorrow's Lighthouse screening in TH7. I will be sure to do that tomorrow morning. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Need playlists for NeverEnding Story & Everybody's Everything Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content):  Ingested keys for Trouble with Harry (these go live at midnight on Friday, I will tech it tomorrow morning) & Neverending Story (these go live at 8 am on Sunday) Alec, could you tech it Sunday night? Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: -Teched NSF2019 Closing Night today with Caryn and Liz. Presentation Issues: No issues. First two 35mm Marriage Story shows went off without a hitch! Preshow Clips/Playlist: I did not notice any flash of white light at the end of the Marriage Story print, but I moved the last cue up anyhow. Ingested the updated November NPP card and Irishman preshow clips. Updated playlists for Friday and built the Irishman playlist. I did not make new "B1" playlists for next Thursday yet since I don't want them to be confused with the "B1" playlists we're using today and tomorrow. Trailer Updates: Made a trailer pack for next Thursday, when we remove Ford v. Ferrari . Special Events/ AV set up: Slayer doc in Theater 2 and Music Video Time Machine in Hi-Res. Both went well, all cables are back in 4/6. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): I called Deluxe to check on keys for The Trouble with Harry and they said we should be getting them tomorrow. Presentation Issues:  Right as we opened House 7 went completely offline. I crawled up to the actual projector disconnected power, rebooted, checked the marriage, came down to the server rack and rebooted VNS and was able to get it back online with 10 minutes to go until the first showtime. Preshow Clips/Playlist:  Updated Marriage Story 35MM playlist. Alec, can you see if you get a brief flash of white light on screen just before the changeover is triggered and the lamp shuts off? Dylan said he thought he saw it and I was focused on the sound processor at that moment. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content):  - Neverending Story DCP came in; it has been ingested. The keys are due to be delivered by 8 am on 11/7, they go live at 8 am on 11/10. I will keep an eye out for them to be delivered. Either Erin or Alec, can you please tech this on Sunday? - We got new keys for The Lighthouse and Paras

Presentation Issues: None Preshow Clips/Playlist: Blue Velvet has been deleted from projector 2 ** Made a Temp playlist with all shorts (except "Dishwasher") for NSF Closing Nite strictly for QC purposes (volume set at 5.0 across the board). (the playlist is SE_NSFClosingNite_TEMP) All shorts we currently have loaded are Flat, so there are no lens/masking cues needed. Trailer Updates: built the '110819' adult trailer pack — once we get the Nov B card we can make playlists for next week Special Events/ AV set up: n/a Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested (almost) all shorts for NSF Closing Nite to TMS. I tried to download "The Dishwasher" from EVO — however, while the file seems to have downloaded completely onto our portable drive, the TMS computer in the rack is not registering it when I try to load the drive there. I can't figure out why — very weird. If I am doing something wrong here please

Presentation Issues:  No presentation issues. Preshow Clips/Playlist:  -Built 35mm Marriage Story playlist for the staff screening tomorrow. Built an AllAges Jojo playlist for the Hawks with Babies today. We are still waiting on Irishman PS content and the Nov_B card update. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: -We had the Netflix screening today which went very well. Alec and I are going to use tomorrow's staff screening as a final tech to try to dial in the lens focusing a bit more and get rid of some of the vignetting. We built all foil cues so they will also be tested tomorrow to see if we have the same lighting automation issues as we did during Hollywood. Dylan will be running the entire show for practice. Dylan and I looked ahead at tomorrow and checked in with John Woods. There is a chance that John will want to do an intro into Slayer. Since it coincides with our first screening of Marriage Story (like within 5 minutes), I will stick around for event su

Presentation Issues: None Preshow Clips/Playlist: Sent out Marriage Story content for Wednesday/Thursday and scheduled all DCP shows. I held off on building the 35mm playlist until after we have the foil cues set on the 35mm print. * I deleted Halloween and Annie from projector 1 to make some space ( Marriage Story is taking up a lot of room — something to keep in mind when we open the even-longer The Irishman later this week) Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Received and ingested keys for Marriage Story. Presentation Issues: There were no presentation issues. Preshow Clips/Playlist: I teched all the Marriage Story pre-shows and the NPP horror trailer for Nightmare on Elm Street. All looked good. Dylan and I were discussing if there would be a difference between the Marriage Story DCP playlist and the 35mm playlist other than an added black slug to shutter the Christie, bring in the masking, and switch the sound processor, etc. Will we have the DCP running (shuttered) behind the 35? Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): The Trouble with Harry DCP came in and has been ingested. The keys for the DCP of Marriage Story came in and have been ingested, they go live tomorrow morning so we can tech the film tomorrow after Netflix leaves.
