To do this evening/ was completed: Back from France. Happy to be here. Getting more up to speed with the past couple of days, checking blogs, made a good chunk of notes for myself with how to proceed this next week. Alec filled me in on quite a bit. There was a lot going on the first part of today. Alec's written about this in his blog from today, but the projector did, in fact, keep running just fine once we got it up before the second to last round. For power, the 2215 projectors have two inlets for power: main inlet and secondary inlet being the 'A' and 'A & B,' the former of which would use only one power cable to power the projector, the latter uses an uninterrupted power supply (which is what the APCs are for) and there's an AC switch that was on 'A' instead of 'A & B.' I switched it back to the right one and it's working well. We're not sure if this is the sole purpose of our troubles, but we'll keep updating you guys.

Wyatt radio'd me once the movie started that it was the wrong one and I switched it. Oddly Godzilla was correctly scheduled for tomorrow when I checked. Theater 3 had that issue again today, it was well into the preshow for the second round when I noticed it. Was prepared to pause the preshow and restart the projector but I went down to the theater/booth just to see what was happening (if cleaning lights stayed on and volume cues didn't go through as Jack had mentioned), but preshow was playing normally at the correct volume with the house lights at the proper level. Since things seemed to be playing normally, I waited in the booth for trailers to start to make sure the lights went off, which they did, but volume didn't change for the trailers. To do this evening/ was completed:  Presentation Issues: One of the ceiling panels in theater 4 (screen right, closest to the front of the room) began malfunctioning approximately twenty minutes into Dune 2 and was flickering intermittently throughout the show. I triggered the cue to bring the cleaning lights down but this was ineffective, then tried switching off the auditorium lights via the circuit breaker panel which, to my surprise, only created more of an issue because it directly affected the functionality of some audio channels in the room. I switched the lights breaker back on and reset the sound rack which, thankfully, restored the audio to its appropriate speakers but did nothing to prevent the light from continuing to flicker. Some passes were given out to upset guests and I explained to the MODs there was nothing I could do to remedy the light issue until after the show as the bulb needs to be removed from the fixture to stop from flickering (this appears to be the same is

Unsurprisingly it has been plattered and seemingly not very well. It's covered top to bottom in the diagonal scratches (base and emusion) that are typical of poorly aligned platter rollers. There's some persistent vertical emulsion scratches, too. Should look OK, but the scratches will be noticeable for sure. There are lots of vertical base scratches, too, but those should be less noticeable. Kept working on adding head, countdown, and tail leader to our trailers. PA/Wireless mics and the hdmi connection for the laptop is all set. Remember to turn on the mixer (I also left both power strips on, but double check this just in case), and stay on NonSync for the whole show. I tested the setup myself but we also had a long run through with Kevin. I adjusted the settings on his laptop so he can see the incoming slides off to the side without this being onscreen (if, for whatever reason the settings change--though they shouldn't--I have photos of what it all should look like. To do this evening/ was completed: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ingested to T2, Parasite ingested to T3. Ran reels of Boyz N The Hood and Legend for Desmond, volumes logged. Added a piece of gaff tape to P2 window as there was a little bleed with the 1.85 lens on the left hand side. Removed a piece of gaff tape from the right side of the P1 window as it was obscuring the edge of the scope projection. Also, the P1 removable film trap was giving me a bit of an issue, basically one of the spring loaded circular rollers on each side of the metal bands was pushed a little too far in, causing the film to sort of push itself out slightly, so when I would advance it by hand it was never flush against the bands. I removed the trap from the projector and loosened a screw on the back of it which allowed the roller to move outward slightly, retightened the screw and started advancing film again by hand and the reel sat flush against the rollers. To do this evening/ was completed: T1 Sundays on Fire went mostly smoothly. I had to ride focus a bit for all of the reels, largely right after changeovers. We also had the wrong end credits time listed on the cue sheets, but that was just an honest mistake, as there are two versions of the film that exist, with the print we got featuring the longer ending. The Christie switched back on and preshow lights came up but I brought lights back down and switched back to multi-channel analog immediately. Mic returned to the booth afterward. Presentation Issues: MOD will have a more extensive breakdown of the fire alarm issues, but all round two screenings had to be canceled aside from theater one--the T1 Christie is not programmed or programmed incorrectly when it comes to fire alarm triggers. The strobes continued to flash in T1 and eventually I put duct tape over them, which worked well to conceal the strobe flash and that screening went smoothly from then on.
