Presentation Issues: None Preshow Clips/Playlist: checked all first run & specialty playlists for the week, everything seems to be good ** scheduled shows for Thursday 9/5. Note that It Chapter 2 seems to be 5 minutes longer than what we have scheduled (this makes for some tight turn arounds). *** left the Freaks And Geeks feature to send out to projector 1 for this week's event (playlist still needs to be built — waiting on preshow content, see below) Trailer Updates: checked the new Trailmix for the new Star Wars trailer — it was not on there Special Events/ AV set up: dual staff screenings of Dirty Dancing and Brittany. All good. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Matthew found a whole bunch of brand new Midsommar posters. Presentation Issues: The CP750 in Theater 3 was set to ProLogic II again instead of Dolby 7.1, which caused the feature ( Bernadette ) to play with inaudible dialogue. I have no idea how or why it was changed to this setting, but Michael was able to quickly remote in and change it back. The feature started about 10 minutes late, but otherwise there were no issues. Preshow Clips/Playlist: I started building all the new A1 playlists for this week. Just waiting on the new September trailer and then they'll be finished. Trailer Updates: Trailer for  Ad Astra is ingested and ready to replace It: Chapter Two next Thursday. Special Events/ AV set up: Blow-Up  is playing in Th 1 at 730PM. Presentation Issues: None. A few manual starts but otherwise a fairly uneventful night. Preshow Clips/Playlist: TMS went into a kind of trance around 10:30 where it seemed to think that all of the projectors (and the scheduler ... and the playlist builder ...) were offline. None of the projectors were actually off and no shows were affected. I do not know why this would have happened. (see my e-mail) .... however towards the end of the night I rebooted the computer in the rack and everything seems to be working normally again. ** deleted Midsommar from projectors 4 and 5 towards the end of the night ... before realizing that we are bringing back Midsommar on Friday. Presentation Issues: I got a call that Blinded by the Light in Th7 had paused in the middle of the movie. Presentation Issues: No issues. A few of our projectors are nearly at storage capacity (projector 2 was at 100% when I came in). Is it possible to delete a couple first run features from these servers to keep things running smoothly? (especially projector 3, which has a special event this week) Preshow Clips/Playlist: changed Once Upon A Time from 35mm to DCP shows in the scheduler for the whole week (through Thursday), to account for our continuing circuit breaker troubles ** built and scheduled playlist for Tigers Are Not Afraid. Presentation Issues: The circuit breaker tripped during the first showing of Once Upon A Time in Hollywood  on 35mm and again (twice actually) towards the end of the second screening. In both cases, I had the show back up and running within a few minutes. I also had the Christie lamp turned off, as well as all of the lights in the booth. After the show went down for the second time during the last screening, I turned the Christie off entirely. I can't think of much else I can do to prevent this from happening again. I think we need to have an electrician take a look and see if they can get to the bottom of this. Also: for some unknown reason, there was no picture on screen during the first round preshow in Th 1. I made a playlist with a lower volume cue for the feature and loaded/scheduled it for today's showtime. Trailer Updates: Mascha told me that the preshow lights in Theater 7 (screening of Bernadette ) were still on at showtime. Looking at the playlist this was because of the short film which takes the place of trailers, so trailers are included in the preshow. It seems like that caused some awkward timing, and lights down cue is 30 minutes, 38 seconds into the playlist so that's why they were still on at 4:30. Special Events/ AV set up: Woodstock 35mm screening in theater 1. No issues with presentation, but the take-up belts on both projectors broke in the middle of a reel. The negative show flip dramatically cut down on our set up time — and I realized too late that the DI box connection running from the stage to the booth was not set up exactly the way we were expecting it to be. However, I had never run a show through our DI box set up, and I admit that I did not know exactly what I was looking for/what could be wrong in case we had an image failure.        In any case, I struggled to get image & sound on screen for about twenty minutes while Dylan S tried to walk me through a fix over the phone. He ran down in an Uber while Gerard and I tried to find the cable that led from the screen. Ultimately, it was a big miscommunication — apparently there was a new HDMI extender added to the cabling behind the rack, which Dylan did not know had been added (and I did not know was a new addition), and the DI output box he was trying to describe to me had been tucked away behind a power strip, where I could no

Presentation Issues: Sound started cutting in and out about 30 minutes into the first Hollywood 35mm show. I misunderstood Dan and Dylan's instructions and opened the changeover on projector 2 before the show started by mistake, thinking the shutter on projector 1 should be closed before I started. I should have looked at Dan's note again to clarify, so I apologize. Dan also told me over the phone that it's normal for a print to have points where it switches to analog sound after it has been run for a while, which I didn't know and was why I thought the sound format switch was some kind of glitch with the sound processor. The CP500 was switching between Dolby digital and Dolby SR. I realized after a few minutes that the CP500 had somehow selected Projector 2 as its source by mistake. I hit the changeover close button on Projector 1, which fixed the issue. However, enough time had passed that customers had left the theater to complain and wanted the film restarted. Presentation Issues: When loading A1_Yesterday for the first round today in Theater 5, I got an error message that I've never seen before: "Could not load playlist: Marriage not active." After checking the KDM and restarting the IMS and TMS to no avail, I called Billy, who was luckily still in the building. He came down, logged into the backend of the IMS, and reconnected the "Marriage." When I asked him what could've caused this he said, "Gremlins." For future reference, both Billy and Jerry Kohut's numbers are in the notes app on the iMac in 4/6. Either can assist you in correcting this issue, as they have the account info required to get into the backend of the Christies. As for the show, it started about 30 minutes behind schedule. After discussing with the MODs, I skipped ahead until the playlist was just about 7 minutes behind, leaving enough time for the servers to greet the guests before the feature began. This resulted in a tighter f

Presentation Issues: When I first came in, I turned on the breaker switch to the 35mm projector in theater 1 to start threading up the Hollywood print, which triggered the house lights to come on during The Lion King. This was due to my lack of familiarity with the start-up procedure for the 35mm machines, and I apologize. This was my first shift running public Hollywood shows, and I had never turned on the breaker switches myself (during a screening or otherwise) and did not fully understand the connection between the breaker and the cues. Regardless, I am sorry for disrupting the show, and will be more careful in the future. The new roller certainly turns freely unlike the last one however it's a bit rough, I think the upper edge is slightly bent so it causes the film to wobble a bit as it passes through.
