To do this evening/ was completed: Print pics for the two prints below have been added to the drive this evening for Conrad!  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: As per my usual Saturday protocol, I went through the new content list and checked all the playlists.  Updated the sheet as the playlists for One Eyed Jacks/ Pomp have been built, though I'll be running through Pomp again on Monday.  Built new SE playlists for the week of 9/06, but we'll need to QC a few. Other playlists we're waiting on content and some other information for.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Donnie Darko is still unzipping in T1. To do this evening/ was completed: Went through the upcoming week in the TMS and rescheduled everything listed in Matthew's updated PDF. Re-did the cue sheets as well and finished out the week. Would appreciate someone double-checking tomorrow just to be on the safe side. Went through all the Cheerleader content, feature tech'd, dance numbers tech'd etc. Updated volume and practiced a few transitions with the lightboard. The show went smoothly, with the slight exception of the breakdown slide DCP going black with no audio halfway through its runtime. Not sure why that happened but it was certainly the DCP and no other type of technical glitch. Mics returned to the booth. While testing lights in T2 booth I noticed a good bit of water on the ground. This was around 3:30. I mopped it up and made sure all of our electronics were dry, then brought a trash can to catch the stream. It's a pretty good leak so I'm glad I caught it early. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: T6 went down again this evening and caused the feature to start in the wrong lens macro (it was scope inside the flat macro so the image was letter and pillar boxed). MODs radioed and I switched it to the appropriate setting. Fortunatately only a couple of minutes had elapsed. Scheduled the coming week in the TMS and continued working on cue sheets. *Looks like the AfrAId showtimes will have to be updated due to updated schedule.* Ran loops in T1 and cleaned the projectors for tonight's show. Playlist double-checked. Added the Class of '99 trailer to the playlist right before the intro per Desmond's request. 4.0 volume and lights at MID. Lights MID for intro as well. Double-checked intro and Q&A slides, those are all set. *Double spot lights to right of screen for intro, double spotlights centered for Q&A, wrote that down on a note right next to P2 for reference.* Alec added some oil to P2 intermittent sprocket, seems it was time for it. It's a bit of a mystery as to why the info on the inspection report for the first reel was missing, but the reel 1 had no issue and all the same cue info as the rest of the reels. I had time after to re-inspect the print and get it packaged up for shipping tomorrow, so please just print out some labels and schedule a pickup. Thanks! The first round in 5 had no tickets sold so I'd stopped playback and shut the lamp off, so this happened right after the lamp struck at the beginning of the second playlist. Paul radioed me that there was no picture on screen when preshow started. I re-struck the lamp and there were no issues after that. Presentation Issues: We lost a show (the last round) in Theater 3 because the dowser broke and was stuck in its closed position, like what happened in Theater 4 last year. Daniella told me there was sound but no picture when the preshow started. The lamp was clearly on, so when closing/opening the dowser on the touch screen and switching between channels did nothing I figured the actual dowser mechanism was broken. I let MODs know I would need to open the projector up and wouldn't be able to get the show on screen in a timely manner, so they cancelled it. I opened the projector and held the dowser up with a cable tie. This issue was slightly different than in Theater 4 as it seemed the dowser had actually come loose in the Theater 3 projector and would not stay in the raised (open) p

Crooklyn intro and screening went mostly smoothly but I was having a pretty frustrating time maintaining sharp focus, particularly on P1, which was exhibiting the classic issue of the right third of the frame being pretty blurry while the rest of the image is sharp. Adjusted gate tension to some success but not that much. Undid the tension for reel four (second reel on that projector). Had to ride focus basically the whole time, but reels 3.5 - 6 went pretty smoothly. Not sure if the print itself was partially responsible. Wasn't able to get to the marquee tonight, apologies. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey team, the reason the whole "FFE" was implemented for inspection reports is to avoid problems like the one Jack had last night, so even if you write down that one reel or two have changeover cues with barely any time (two frames from the end is damn near impossible to hit) you should absolutely add grease cues (if it's a studio print. if it's archival, reach out to get permission and, on the off chance they say 'no,' make it clear on the report in highlighted text that the c/o needs to happen almost immediately after the motor cue. there are ways around this.) Thank you! To do this evening/ was completed: Inspected the last three reels of Crooklyn. Print is in very nice condition overall. Reels are back on shipping for the moment. Magnolia screening went pretty smoothly with the exception of a few minor blips. The first being that the 239 FILM masking cue didn't trigger the curtains so the Mummy trailer started with some bleed on the curtains. Hit the regular 239 cue to open them up. 239 FILM doesn't work for T1 right now. The other two blips were cue-related. The description of the Mummy  grease motor cue in the 8/3 blog and the info sheet card somewhat made it sound like the cue would come when the release date for the film came on screen, so I didn't see it when it came prior to that. Little bit of tail leader on screen, muted the processor soon as I could. Also reel 5 had CO cues two frames from the end of the reel. I see that's listed in the inspection report, but it would've been better to add some new grease cues to the right

To do this evening/ was completed: My return to a Tuesday closing shift here was a busy one with a couple events and some technical things that added extra wrenches here. But it all got sorted out in the end.  Presentation Issues: When I was setting up trivia, Shay's laptop audio wasn't coming on. No problem, just have to turn the volume up on the projector: only the volume bar wasn't showing up onscreen. This was on other video inputs as well. Whenever I pressed it on the remote the image would go in and out onscreen. I ended up having to grab a ladder and manually press the volume button on the projector. It worked, but the volume bar still didn't show up.  Jared walkie'd me saying that the table lights in Theater 1 were off. I went to turn them back on and they started flickering off and on. I went to check to make sure it was reset after the fire alarm and it was, house light cues were just not working so I manually brought lights down to preshow and tried to figure it out. This was the case in 1, 4, and 6 as well. At first I thought the IPs had reset since I could not access the web GUI, but after trying to access the deafult IP didn't work either I knew that wasn't the case. Ultimately power cycling the units and reseating the ethernet cable in the back did the trick and allowed me to access the web GUIs again and fire automation cues. I suppose the fire alarm disrupted the ethernet connection because Lillian mentioned having to bring lights up manually last night. I appreciate you all very much.  Unfortunately, we had a tough night here. You'll all have seen my email about the strange noises coming from the projector in T6, the ventilation, and the smells moving their way through T2. I did worry about the possibility of the fire alarm going off, and it did, mere seconds after Jared and I hoped it'd be alright as the smells seemed to be receding in both places, which weren't hugely offensive to begin with, but our smoke detectors are good. For some theatres, this happened during the penultimate round, and for others it was final round. It took a lot of team effort for us to get back on track.
