To do this evening/ was completed: Took the DeWalt to booths 5 and 3/7, vacuumed both pretty thoroughly, particularly around the AC units and projectors. There was a fair amount of detritus, and some dust balls, but it didn't seem so, so dusty. Obviously still a good thing to regular clean these areas, though. Removed outgoing 5/24 content, playlists, packs and forecasts. All 6/7 A1 content downloaded and ingested, playlists built. Upcoming SE playlists not yet manufactured--waiting for content.  Private screenings this morning went just fine. Tonight ~ SOF print can get inspected (it's called Eagle's Shadow)! - L Inspected the rest of Cloud Atlas. It is in excellent condition, rewound onto its shipping reels for now. To do this evening/ was completed: We had Will's review today and had a good long chat.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlist for Bad Education .  Tech'd Babes which sounds great at 5.0!  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Villain Edit preshow received and ingested.  Received the CRU drive of Cora Bora . Ingested directly to T1. I took a look at this today and the image/sound is great.  Checked the TMS for missing/about to expire KDMs and uploaded new keys for The Fall Guy/Challengers.  We received three prints today! Crash , Bad Education , and Eagle's Shadow for SOF. Brought all of these down to T1.  I started inspecting Crash  (favorite Cronenberg movie, really wanted to see this one on the bench again. I'll finish it tomorrow!) but we'll also need Bad Education looked at this evening.  Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Coordination

To do this evening/ was completed: Hi everyone! Weekly Update is out. Please get your eyes on it as soon as your next shift. Friendly reminder that for this upcoming week, we're losing Back to Black and I Saw the TV Glow . Please do NOT delete I Saw the TV Glow until after this Thursday!! Thank you!  Staff Screenings are out, on the TMS, and blocked on the calendar.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Made CCAP/OCAP playlists for Babes , but there's no playlist info for it on the trailer list (reached out to Kat about this) so I have generic preshow in there at the moment. We can swap it easily if need be. Update: Kat confirmed generic preshow so we're all set!  Trailer Updates: Updated the PG13 and R trailer packs for 5/31 with Janet Planet trailer.  Special Events/ AV set up: I checked the 1.66 lenses and plates for the T1 projectors, since Crash is 1.66 I believe, and will be the first time we've used these lenses and plates. To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 4 house lights are back to functioning normally now. Vlad informed us that the dimmer wire had been cut so that's why the settings were not coming on with the commands on the rack board. He reconnected that and disconnected the fluorescent that had been flickering but we still weren't getting either the sconces nor the other fluorescents to come on. Ultimately he left leaving the problem light disconnected and we were going to just have the two options (ceiling high hats on but too bright for preshow/credits/cleaning, and completely dark for trailers/feature) for now. When going over the details of the issue to explain the situation to MiT it occurred to me that the fixtures on two of the four channels (flourescents/cleaning lights and the wall sconces) would not come on no matter what and the fixtures on the other two channels (ceiling and hallway high hats) would come on but only 100% and could not be dimmed. So I reseated the channe

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: The house lights issue in theater 4 continues to provide its share of trouble as the light control switches inside the booth are still malfunctioning (the switch to trigger cleaning lights brings them down and vice versa) and only the two middle fixtures turn on during the pre-show (pictured below) + we need to bring up the lights manually at the end of each round since the cleaning lights cues are not being triggered in the SPLs/functional in this room  Ran some tests this morning and show playlist content is unhindered but we are still gambling with the rogue ceiling panel at the rear of the auditorium (Paul said an electrician was coming in to disconnect the light but there has been no update on this as of yet) **update: two electricians arrived just before the start of the first round, disconnected the bulb, and asked to bring up the cleaning lights to see if it worked but for obvious reasons we could not, no flicker as of thi

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: The ceiling light in T4 continued to flicker/turn on throughout the first round (noticed the room was dark this morning and any attempt to bring the house lights up via the sound rack switches kept it in darkness...once the house lights did come up only the malfunctioning ceiling panel and center bulbs turned on...switch controls seem to be working in reverse for some reason); MODs are aware and Paul reached out to Matthew about contacting additional electricians since Vlad was unavailable today **Update: cleaning lights did not trigger at the end of the first round and the room was left in darkness through the credits; tried resetting the light control panel on the sound rack but unplugging/plugging this back in made no difference (current pre-show light configuration heading into the second round, only the center lights are on and the ceiling panel is still flickering intermittently): **Update #2:   second round just began...cei

To do this evening/ was completed: T4 gave us quite the headache tonight.  Emailed everyone about this, but putting it here too. T4 light started flickering again in T4 during the penultimate round. Did quite a bit of troubleshooting from the booth to remedy the situation to no avail. Got the ladder and cut the LEDs as we previously did in T2, but I couldn't remember (neither could Alec) the exact protocol for the wires as there's loads of them ad each ceiling light has its own electrical box, essentially. Tried putting the port glass cloth up there as well as garbage bags but it was too tough, so we just left it and, to my delight, the light stayed put for a little while. I texted/called Vlad to make sure we can get him in here as soon as possible. Despite everything, a lot of folks chose to stay for the final screening, too, which turned out well.  Presentation Issues: Other than what happened in T4 we had no issues.  Kept an eye on the Williamsburg splashtop. To do this evening/ was completed: Worked on getting some more preshows not currently in rotation backed up to our stationary external drive ("Preshows & Trailers") remember to check this if any older preshows get reused and we don't have them on the TMS, good chance they'll be on there! You can ingest directly from this drive so no downloading or copying between drives is necessary. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Added the Far from Home feature to the playlist and updated the cue sheet. We got the extended cut of this, with a whopping 14 minutes of credits. Built and scheduled the Free Time playlist. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Bumped Band of Outsiders to 5.5 for the show today and updated the playlist. To do this evening/ was completed: Folks, please remember to sign into your own Google account. Thank you!  Tech'd both Furiosa and Hit Man for image/sound/accurate credits info. Furiosa looks really, really cool.  Sent out an update with new staff screening info so folks know we're doing a Kill Bill V2 screening.  The KDM for Band of Outsiders will be active starting tomorrow. Can tech then. Had a look through the June calendar today to get ahead on a few things and since we're playing Cora Bora on 6/11, which we've shown for NewFest (or NoBudge...cannot remember) I figured there'd be a chance we still have it on the drive and we do! Emailed Desmond to see if the filmmakers would be cool with us using the one we already have or if they've made changes since then. Update: we're gonna wait until they send us the new one. It might be the same DCP. We'll see.  A/C is still off in 3/7, Palco was here yesterday but still haven't been able to repair

To do this evening/ was completed: I put the original IMS back into the Theater 2 projector with the new OS disk in place. Switching these went fine, not content ultimately needed to be ingested because our original storage disks were placed in the loaner, so I just removed those and put them back into the original. Deluxe (eventually) sent us the right keys for the "new" serial number. Only slight glitch is that the TMS is showing the incorrect SPL names for Theater 2 on the schedule tab. Fear not, the correct playlist is scheduled. You can check on the IMS web UI. Also the playlist runtime on the TMS scheduler tab matches the playlist that is scheduled (i.e. it does not display the runtime of the playlist whose name appears). To do this evening/ was completed: Alec and Matthew will have seen my email in our thread with DMS, but just so everyone knows here - the T6 server went down again tonight, just once, about 30 min into the feature during the penultimate show in there. Please do let me/Alec know if this happens again tomorrow. Keep your eye on T6 and we'll inform you guys with any info we get from DMS. I ordered a longer ethernet cable which I'll be able to run more neatly over to the rack, but this is working. Tidied and organized the side desk in 4/6. There's a bunch of hard drives here, most of which belong to Kat I think. There's Miyazaki, Almodovar, NSF-NPP, and Fugazi. Do these need to get back to the office? To do this evening/ was completed: Replaced the OS disk in the Theater 6 IMS. since this was looking like it would arrive later in the day I asked Paul to sell out the first round as it had no tickets sold. The disks arrived just before 3pm but it was still a good thing we blocked that first screening. After replacing the disk, performing the update, and restoring the backup I still could not open the controls using the IP for Theater 6. Spent a while on the phone with Chris from DMS figuring this out. Apparently the backup that the IMS automatically restored from when I replaced the OS set it to the wrong IP. This was all an issue with this particular backup file on the IMS and not the OS disk I installed. To do this evening/ was completed: Realized my blog didn't post from last night, so I'll also be recapping here.  Last night, we almost had a presentation issue - the server went down towards the end of the fourth round in T6 as waitstaff radioed me for cleaning lights during credits. I restarted the projector, which as per usual did the trick, and got the final round back up and running for preshow (8 minutes into preshow, not a huge loss). Emailed DMS. Went down the Google/film tech forum rabbit hole for potential answers.  *DMS emailed us back today - they've ordered a replacement part as per their theory of a failing OS disk/disk corruption, a procedure of which we recently had done in T2, if you recall. Some important notes about Drop Dead Gorgeous below.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked the playlists for this upcoming week/all the SEs we have in the coming days.  Trailer Updates: Checked trailer packs, made notes about new trailers/swaps.  Special Events/ AV set up: Game went on just fine in Trees.  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Inspected all of Drop Dead Gorgeous . It took me a really long time to safely inspect reel four as the shipping reel broke (almost) in half, and because the core (not a detachable core like the ones we use for trailers) was still protruding out and over the film on its newly exposed side, so I couldn't even transfer it to one of our split reels.
